ANYONE SEE NOTW TODAY?

There was a shock horror piece about some doubtless flip comment by Lily Allenin the NOTW today. However it was the headline that startled me. It said "Lilly The Pimp". Eh? What as in "Willie The Pimp" from Zappa's Hot Rats?
OK it may have been a play on Scaffold's "Lily The Pink" - an equally arcane reference perhaps - but I'm not so sure.
Old head sub takes advantage of late hours to have private joke?

A sub joke, although the story was actually about Paul O'Grady mentioning that he had worked as an 'escort's escort' for a short time. Doesn't change the gag, though.

I'm interested you think it's arcane. I think it is a really well-known song and that a fair majority of people reading that would know the reference.
I sang it in school assemblies in the 70/80's, and I know my nieces (aged 15 and 12) did too.
