Sounds good..
...until it rains?
I don't understand
Why is rain an issue?
A I recall
The denouement of The Man in the White Suit is that Alec Guinness's miraculous, everlasting, self-cleaning material is that it turns out to fall apart in rain.
Aha!
Spoiler alert
Oop, too late (see above). That will save me a couple of hours of viewing time.
ET goes home, by the way.
It would be a couple of hours well spent
This, like many of Ealing's films has a lot going on, is quite subversive and champions the little man at the expense of the establishment (a common Ealing theme). It is quite relevant in this age of technology, showing how different people rely on connected parts of the supply chain and although the factory owners get rich, everyone has something to lose when change comes.
Best satire ever made
You won't regret watching it.
I agree
I've seen it. I was thinking Gatz might have spoilt it for others. But I concur, it's well worth seeing even if you know the ending.
And if I'm honest, I was bored with my lunch and decided to make someone feel guilty. Sorry, Gatz.
It's OK - I didn't take it seriously
Given that the film is 60 years old, and as others suggest above it's driven more by ideas than plot, I didn't think I was giving away too big a secret.
Not since
I got that George Osborne as an MP instead.
Not a fair swap.
(funny winky punctuation-on-its-side thingy)
