Any good pub gigs going on tonight in London?
Posted by greenguitarstar on 28 October 2010 - 2:43pm.
So, the Manics have cancelled Brixton tonight which I've been looking forward to for an age. Anyone know of any bands, amateur or 'real' playing in London tonight that I must see, and might make up for my disappointment? I have a mate coming frm Dublin and everything.

Not quite pub gigs, but...
Some to consider
Robin Williamson, Green Note, NW1
'Celtic bard and former guiding light of the Incredible String Band'
OXJAM: The Megadudes + The Complete Short Stories + The Evidents + Three Colours Madame JoJos, W1
ELECTRIC PROMS: Elton John/Leon Russell/Plan B/Rumer
Roundhouse, Chalk Farm Rd, NW1 8EH
Don't tell anyone...
...but I think Mark Ellen may be going to the Green Note.
Mr Williamson will be performing his new song...
If You Tolerate This Then "The 5000 Spirits or the Layers of the Onion" Will Be Next.
Psychedelic Furs
at the Kentish Town forum?
Warpaint at The Scala, theyre supposed to be good..all girl band
Clinic at the Village Underground kind of art rock combo.
Magic Kids at the Lexington opp. Word Towers, kind of twee Beach boysee indie pop and u might bump into a few Word hacks on the pentonille rd
Pontiak are on at The Old Blue Last EC2, very loud bluesy psych rock.
Hope u find something to do, do report back and tell us what u decide to see. Touch wood i think ive only had a band cancel on me once but it is a real bummer when it happens
Swans
Warpaint + Electric Proms will be sold out.
We're off to Swans at KOKO. May still be tickets, but could be a hard listen.
Budgie will probably be on somewhere...
Hope you find something good to do.
I wonder where they ended up?
I have an image of two crestfallen Manics fans staggering out of a Swans gig, ears a-ringing.....
So...
Went to the Hoxton Pony and saw two bands for free, both of which had few redeeming qualities. But, hey, we had a laugh. Roll on January.
