And time. Won't. Take. My. Love. AWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY. RIP Loleatta Holloway

Possibly the most sampled voice in the world has died.
Have a listen to this and play spot the 90s club hit.
And putting aside all of the nasty legal squabbling and implausible-sounding models on Top Of The Pops, I'd have Black Box's Ride On Time AND Love Sensation right up there as separate and equally valid works of dance magic.
She was the sound of euphoria.

I saw her
interviewed about the Black Box affair and she broke down in tears. Very sad.
With Jocelyn Brown, Kym Mazelle, Aretha and others showing that the public can handle a singer that isn't a size zero, why they didn't ask her to front Black Box is a mystery to me. Everyone's a winner then. (Apart from the size zero model that mimed it)
Sad sad... I recommend...
'Hit & Run' (the extra long [possibly Tom Moulton] version) as a suitable tribute to her memory - it's storming SalSoul at its finest, and becomes positively avant garde during the long central build.
I haven't embedded it, of course, because I don't know how to do that and haven't got time to learn at the moment... Sorry about that...
Seconded...
Hit and Run is just bloody brilliant.
It's very easy to embed video...
...you just wait for some kind hearted person to come along and do it on your behalf *waves*
seriously, for future reference, it's super easy. just find the video you want on youtube, and then copy the page address into your post. The Word site will then automatically embed the video for you. Hope I got the right version BTW, I did look for the extra long verison and at 10 minutes, that's pretty extra long...
Oh, that's very good of you, Hannah...
I had no idea the process was so painless - I had envisioned a requirement for all manner of abstruse tagging...
It has a very good BEAT, what! *jerks mid-riff spasmodically & tweedily in a vaguely disturbing manner*
No trouble at all, SDP.
Mind if I join you?

Salsoul Mastercuts
I got Salsoul Mastercuts back in 1993 and every track is a winner, as well as providing the foundations for house music samples.
Very sad to hear about her death.
Don't forget 'Runaway' 'All about the Paper' and her barn-storming performance on 'Vertigo / Relight my fire'
My fave by her is Runaway
It just swings!
Looking at that label...
My eye was drawn to another two greats of the dance music scene. Dan Hartman and Salsoul. I wouldn't be the same man I am now without their help.
