And here's Bruce with the traffic...

Nick_Setchfield's picture

Just caught a traffic report from Bruce Springsteen. Apparently the highway's jammed with broken heroes, on a last chance power drive. With tailbacks.

Any other fragments of songs just waiting to be beamed from the Rock FM newsroom?

From The Sopranos

Currently watching the fourth season again

Still the best drama show I´ve seen. Apologies to The Wire and Mad Men.

Agree

Wire and Mad Men brilliant too but the Sopranos is the Daddy.

Great minds etc.

Well, one richly rewarded Hollywood writer's room mind. And one slightly less glamorous Word blogger one.

I've never seen the Sopranos, I have to confess...

Brilliant

It is utterly brilliant. I have watched it several times and will do again. The finest TV ever, fact. Enjoy!

Lucky you

I envy your opportunity to enjoy The Sopranos from scratch.
West Wing has long been "best" in my book, with The Sopranos a close second.
I've only just started The Wire, though, and haven't seen Mad Men (yet) so who knows where I'll end up.

and here's Bob with the weather

"Sun is shining, the weather is sweet now
Make you wanna move your dancing feet, yeah"

0
Cookieboy | 21 July 2010 - 10:15am

But you don't need a weatherman

To know which way the wind blows

Here's Susanna with the travel:

Have to catch an early train
Got to be to work by nine
And if I had an aeroplane
I still couldn't make it on time.

Bob | 21 July 2010 - 10:20am

Bob again

"A change in the weather is known to be extreme
But what's the sense of changing horses in midstream?"

Fountains of Wayne said it

Channel Six news team
Breaking story bout a get-rich-quick scheme
One anchor turns and faces the other
Says it’s time that I made you my lover
Oooh we belong together
Like traffic and weather
Like traffic and weather

And now over to Len for the business news

Things are going to slide, slide in all directions
Won't be nothing
Nothing you can measure anymore
The blizzard, the blizzard of the world
has crossed the threshold
and it has overturned
the order of the soul

... thanks Leonard.

And now, with the weather, Buddy:

The sun is out;
The sky is blue;
There's not a cloud to spoli the view,
But it's raining:
Raining in my heart

0
illuminatus | 21 July 2010 - 11:49am

It´s raining in Liverpool too

I don´t want to sound complaining, but you know there´s always rain in my heart.

0
Ola Claesson | 21 July 2010 - 5:18pm

So, Jeff, how's it looking out there?

Sun is shining in the sky
There ain't a cloud in sight
It's stopped raining, everybody's in the lake
And don't you know
It's a beautiful new day hey,hey
with a 30% chance of precipitation in the south

0
Captain Underpants | 21 July 2010 - 5:00pm

Yes, with a chance of

Summer and Lightning later on, so don't forget your brolly.
