Anatomy of recent albums?

Dr Yang's picture

I stumbled upon this earlier today at cracked.com.

Okay, so this blatantly isn't true of every single album (as the comic itself says), but I certainly recognised this as the formula for a couple of albums in my collection.

So Did I

Any chance of a breakdown of a recent album which hit the criteria?

It's just that, recently, I have been mostly listening to freak folk and an album with, on average, 6 10 minute songs is unlikely to follow Industry rules.

excellent

I laughed like a drain at that and the source website is great too. I can immediately think of a Manic Street Preachers album that fits the bill.

Very true!

I'm sure that the first Killers album followed this process didn't it?

There is definately a trend for Coldplay to front-load their albums with the most catchy material...
