It's About:
A scientist specialising in animal cognition decides - much against the advice of her peers - to team up with a parrot to further the study of language and learning. The bird becomes something of a celebrity (look up "Alex the parrot" on Wikipedia) over the course of thirty years' work, before its early death forces the good doctor to re-evaluate the nature of her relationship with her avian charges.
