Albums played live

I am sure there has been a topic on here in the past about the trend of artists playing albums in track order live. The latest example is Bruce Springsteen. Last night at a charity event, he did the Darkness On The Edge Of Time album in full followed by the Born To Run album. Details at http://www.backstreets.com/setlists.html

That's a brilliant set...

...my two favourite Springsteen albums in one go.

I know of the following:

Brian Wilson- Pet Sounds, Smile
Arthur Lee/Love- Forever Changes
The Zombies- Odessey and Oracle (hope a DVD comes out of this one)
The Pretty Things- SF Sorrow
Magnum- On A Storyteller's Night, Wings Of Heaven
Patti Smith- Horses
Lou Reed- Berlin
The Stooges- Fun House
Dio- Holy Diver

Pink Floyd and Roger Waters both did Dark Side Of The Moon in full on live tours. Roger Waters also did The Wall in Berlin with an all star live cast.

The progressive metal band Dream Theater do tribute sets where they play a classic album in full, like Iron Maiden's 'Number Of The Beast', Metallica's 'Master Of Puppets' or the aforementioned 'Dark Side Of The Moon'.

There's also

If You're Feeling Sinister by Belle and Sebastian live at the Barbican.

Tindersticks performed Tindersticks II live a couple of years ago and it convinced them to reform for a new studio album

Don't Look Back

There has been a series of these as one off shows running for a couple years called Don't Look Back. Teenage Fanclub, Sonic Youth, loads of interesting ones.

Unfortunately they're all in bloody London...bah.

Blockheads

The Blockheads drafted Phil Jupitus in on their recent tour and played Northampton first. They played "New Boots and Panties" from start to finish to a 2/3rds full New Theatre. First time it has ever been played in full live.

God it was fantastic!

Afterwards they all came out into the foyer where various star-struck ex-youths, now in their 50's gazed upon their heroes in awe. I was very doubtful about Mr Jupitus but he played it perfectly - kind of respectful but not over the top. One of my best nights out for a long time....
