Adding pictures

Vincent's picture

On the 'adding content' page, can someone PLEASE say how we add a picture to a submission? It's easy enough for YouTube or similar, but whenever i try to add a pic it doesn't. it's getting most annoying. #

But this is still better than frigging Google Forms.

How I do it...

Hmmm..when I explain it thinks I want to post a pic. Maybe Google "posting a pic in forum using img src....it explains it pretty easy.

Works For Me

Go to Google (other Search Engines are available)
Find Image
Copy address
Paste this into the message: img src="(web address (full size image).jpg" (with a < & > at either end)

Aha.......

Cheers all

(prob forget next week!)

If I wanted to post from a folder then I guess that's not possible and it would have to be first uploaded to a hosting site like imageshack.

0
art vanderlay | 1 February 2012 - 11:24pm

Exactly

It has to be on the web.

0
Fraser Lewry | 1 February 2012 - 11:27pm

Not if the kittens

(see below) are anything to go by. I just copied and pasted, using the Magic Formula.

policybloke1 | 1 February 2012 - 11:28pm

Oh.

I stand corrected.

0
policybloke1 | 1 February 2012 - 11:29pm

This way worked for me

and Im a right doofus! (Thanks by the way Gatz)

0
daddyclark | 1 February 2012 - 10:15pm

True

In cases like this, actually doing it is always easier than reading a description of how to do it.

0
Fraser Lewry | 1 February 2012 - 9:51pm

thanks

brilliantly clear!

0
Vincent | 1 February 2012 - 10:26pm

Now.let's see...

policybloke1 | 1 February 2012 - 11:06pm

Try again

0
policybloke1 | 1 February 2012 - 11:09pm

not quite

Look at your:

img src=<"http://static.handsoncards.saltycrane.com/site_media/images/blog/zoo_baby_otters1.jpg">

If you move the "<" after the = to BEFORE the img this happens:

if you put width="500" after the quotes this happens

BigJimBob | 1 February 2012 - 11:21pm

All the elements are there

But in the wrong order. Start with the <

yes...

< at the beginning...> at the end.

0
ablewalker | 1 February 2012 - 11:39pm

policybloke1 | 1 February 2012 - 11:18pm

1
BigJimBob | 1 February 2012 - 11:22pm

Yahoo!

Runs round bedroom with shirt over head!!!

1
policybloke1 | 1 February 2012 - 11:19pm

Sorry

rather a poor image. The shirt, not the kittens.

0
policybloke1 | 1 February 2012 - 11:20pm

Well

you learn something new every day.

0
policybloke1 | 1 February 2012 - 11:26pm

One day I'll learn about HTML and stuff.

As it is, I just know how to delete the crappy text from the end of the string.

Here we have a picture of a man with a huge cock. The string, minus an <> at either end, is as follows, which just seems to shift the image to the middle of the screen. And put in some of the HTML. It's all a bit complex for me.
