A track a day keeps the doctor away
Posted by Jude Rogers on 5 December 2008 - 10:46am.
Hello, Jude here, formerly of this parish. I've been doing my track-a-day blog again now for nearly six weeks. I recommend you all do it – it's a nice way of remembering what you were doing on a certain day, and how much music frames what we do. You can find mine here: http://atrackadaykeepsthedoctoraway.blogspot.com.

Never heard of Rollin' Over?
Good work.
I will not type Hey, Jude
Enjoyable blog, Jude, but you didn't reveal whether MMO'H really did sing backing vocals or not - I always thought that was her making 'monster' sounds in the instrumental break - is this not the case?
Bob
Jude - I'm not a big Bob fan by any means but the Biograph cd set is pretty good if only for the version of "You're a big girl now".
Where To Go With Dylan ?
I had an interesting route into Dylan, I started with The Bootleg Series Volumes 1-3 which is sort of an alternative history of his music like following back roads instead of going straight to the motorway, it really is a testiment to his talent and genius that although many of these songs were never released on official albums they are still fantastic, there are also three acoustic tracks from Blood On The Tracks that are better than those on the original album.
After that of course I got all his classic albums you probably know which ones they are so I'll leave it there.
Blatant Plug
In the seasonal spirit of Word writers pointing you to their blogs, perhaps I can hijack Jude's lovely thread (for her *very* lovely blog) and point you to the online home of my new book, I Shot A Man In Reno, recently featured in no less rarefied climes than The Word podcast and website.
All welcome to join the shadowy fray here, and if you visit, please make your presence felt:

Thank you!

Shot A Man In Reno
I won a copy of this in a Word comp. It's a damn fine read.
Well done Mr Thompson.
Doing as I'm Told
I've made one too. Only one entry so far, but then it is just the first day.
