A Song For Cheryl

Paul Thompson's picture

Tracey Thorn seems to be ahead of the game.

This beautifully grown up tune has just been released as a free download promoting her new album. Don't let Cheryl anywhere near it...

shame to link

such a wonderful and distinctive voice with possibly the worst but sadly most successful Uk has ever produced. Shame Tracey has to give her music away too but hat as we know is another story.

Clicked that link

Shouldn't she be older? She's looked like that for nearly 30 years. Great song too.

I love Tracey Thorn

Wonderful. What I'd love is a remix of "Idlewild" without the toytown drum machine. It even has RT on it FFS. "Amplified heart" with Danny Thompson and Dave Mattocks is fantastic too.

Me too

I love the mature pared down feel of this track and the heart felt subject matter. It sets up the album nicely, can't wait to hear it (that's why it's free btw).

I get the feeling Tracey's maturing into a sort of female Nick Lowe...

Vaguely disappointed.

I thought the song was going to be called "My pig-thick husband's been caught nuts-deep in another slapper"

I can always write it for Cheryl if she or Xenomania want me to.
