Dear members of the massive I have a request . I need to retrieve texts I am assured that there may well be a gizmo which can do this ( I have been told the police use such a program ) if so does anyone have a clue as to where I may locate such a program ?
Thank you

is this text messages on a phone?
if so I sync them to my pc from my nokia phone using a usb cable and a program called nokia lifeblog 2.5
There's a wonderful program for Mac called Blue Phone Elite
which bluetooths to your phone and allows you to send texts from your Mac, sync texts from your phone, display the caller on a pop-up on the Mac screen etc etc.
What it can't do though is retrieve texts you've deleted from the phone - only the mobile network supplier can do that.
Yes
Most of the big mobile phone manufacturers have PC clients for managing and backing up your phone.
Nokia, as already mentioned. I've done it with Samsung phones as well. You'll need to get a cable, but they're usually cheap on eBay. Or you can do it over Bluetooth.
Another option
If your texts are stored on the sim card, it might be possible to use a generic sim-card reader. But I'm less sure about this option.
Mmmm
I think you have to keep them on your phone and back them up to the PC to retrieve them. The police thing involves the network operator retrieving them from the SMS/text server which they do for the boys in blue but don't do for the general public. Once you've deleted it is is gone.
Aye
If they've been deleted, you're up the creek.
