A copy of the Mail On Sunday blew into the garden at the weekend

and I chanced to read the interview with Paul McCartney. Nice free CD too. Anyway he mentioned, apparently only slightly tongue in cheek, that he had been having dinner with Dave Grohl around the time he was putting Them Crooked Vultures together. Enquiring as to whether they needed a bass player, Grohl had sheepishly said they had already spoken to John Paul Jones.

Macca, Grohl, Homme? Interesting certainly.

Bless him

I think Macca would have loved being a part of Them Crooked Vultures. Hats off to the man for still wanting to be a musician before anything else.

I reckon the Helter Skelter Hitmaker...

... would have made a rather fine Crooked Vulture.

Macca - Guitarist

Maybe it's too late to be changing your main instrument, but I recall reading (was it in Phllip Norman's book?) that Macca thought he should have been the lead guitar in The Beatles, but as George couldn't play bass he ended up with it.
Would there be room for 2 guitars in TCV? I don't know.
