A Case Of Mistaken Identity?
Posted by geacher53 on 10 May 2011 - 8:01pm.
This afternoon at work it was quiet, so I had the IPod just a little bit louder that normal. "MacArthur Park" was on, the original by Richard Harris. It was giving it a fair bit of welly when one of my customers came in.
"Ah Travis, I love them I do".
WTF?
Anyone else know anyone who thought on hearing ABBA that it was Led Zep?
Or got confused between the sounds of Gerry And The Pacemakers and Santana?
Over to you.

Not quite the same thing, but...
in 1977 I heard In The City for the first time. It was on Radio Luxembourg, and I was blown away by it. It led into an advert break, and when the DJ returned, I waited, pen poised, eager to hear who this energetic new combo could be. 'Before the break, you heard Diamond Head' he said. For the next few weeks, I believed that In The City was by heavy rockers Diamond Head, rather than The Jam.
Greatest Day
By Take That. I thought it must be Coldplay's new single.
The last Manic's single...
for ages I thought it was Take That.
When I first heard Coconut
by Harry Nilsson, I thought it was a Bill Oddie track taken off The Goodies.
