0

EXPLAIN PLEASE

I have never in my life got a cryptic crossword clue. Although gegs was in Drop The Dead Donkey so I know that one...

EDIT- I get it now.

0
ganglesprocket | 9 November 2011 - 6:09pm

Shouldn't it

be Gegs (9,4) or is there an alternative answer?

wills123 | 9 November 2011 - 6:23pm

It should,

I obviously can't count today. Sorry.

0
badartdog | 9 November 2011 - 7:16pm

Billybob Dylan | 9 November 2011 - 7:26pm

Damn it to Hades with a chaser of hell-blast

I had to google that. It's a belter.

0

"Damn it to Hades with a chaser of hell-blast"

sounds very Melchettian. Is it?

0
Billybob Dylan | 9 November 2011 - 7:28pm

Nearly.

Fry and Laurie. They were running the best goddamn leisure centre in Uttoxeter.

1
Bob | 9 November 2011 - 7:30pm

As you read it you can hear...

... Fry's voice, can't you?

0
Billybob Dylan | 9 November 2011 - 7:37pm

MARJORIE.

0
milkybarnick | 9 November 2011 - 8:58pm

Can we have...

... a clue? Please?

0
Billybob Dylan | 10 November 2011 - 12:25am

Erm...

The answer is a 13 letter word that, if you split it into three parts and read them as separate words would lead you to the answer "e". That's the best I can do without giving away bits of the answer.

0
milkybarnick | 10 November 2011 - 12:38am

Is it...

... entomostracan?

0
Billybob Dylan | 10 November 2011 - 1:14am

I know.....

As no one else has posted......

Senselessness

Sense less ness - i.e take the letters n,e, s, s out of sense and you are left with 'e'.
