1st annual Word Podcast Photo exhibition!

Chris G's picture

tunnel

From your comments many of the Massive listen to the podcast on the move. I know I often head out with DH , ME and Fraser chatting way in my ears, whether on the way to work or elsewhere.

Because I listen on my phone (not having an ipod) I also have a camera with me (amongst the other things it does). Anyway I often take pics when I'm out and wondered if anyone else does or if next time you're listening to the podcast, you'd take snap. Doesn't have to be of you, could be of the dog, or something of interest on your desk or your favourite place to walk or you know just a good picture.

Anyway here's one I took recently!

ps. ask if you are new to posting pics on-line and I'll post some tips.

If your pics are alrerady online

it's quite straight forward
using the Bruce cover pic above.
On Pc right click and copy the url from the "properties"
and paste it in your post
http://www.wordmagazine.co.uk/files/imagepicker/1/COV94_175.jpg

then paste
|| minus the |
after it. If it doesn't play around with the gaps until it works

if you need more help just ask plus it's in FAQ at the bottom of the page

update sorry can't type the code without it showing a block bascially the answers in the FAQ sorry can't fiddle more my batteries dieing sorry

ganglesprocket | 20 November 2010 - 4:17pm

It really isn't hard

honest are mac or pc?

0
Chris G | 20 November 2010 - 4:24pm

I am mac.

Honestly I have tried imgur and photobucket and I can't work either. What happened up there was I went to the springsteen pic and did the download image as onto my desktop and all that copied was the title I gave the jpeg. That genuinely was not me typing something ironic...

0
ganglesprocket | 20 November 2010 - 5:14pm

basically

what what happens when you post a picture here is you're are telling the programme that runs this site where to get the picture so it can display. Not sure what's happening when try save. Maybe a mac user can be more help.
uploading your own pics to most sights is really straight forward usually.

Hannah | 22 November 2010 - 6:55pm

Seeing as I listen to the podcast...

beached on my couch, I thought I'd photograph what is directly in front of me.

Am I drunk or summat?

but I'm sure when I first saw that picture it was landscape not portrait. I still haven't got a clue what it is, mind.

Great idea for a thread

Makes me wish I listened to the podcast... I never manage to carve out the time. I'm not commuting any more, that used to be my golden time for catching up with podcasts and new music...

Looks a bit like

a close-up of a cat 'backing one out', as we used to say in the veterinary profession.

A boring picture of my son, taken with my phone..

On the beach opposite where we live. Not a pretty beach, but I love the sweep of the diagonals of the old fortifications and the low winter light.

5
Lenny Law | 21 November 2010 - 1:20am

The beach opposite where you live?

You lucky bugger. How old's Little Law?

0
Hannah | 21 November 2010 - 11:45am

Law Jr..

Now three and a half. It's good to have the beach because we don't have a garden.

0
Lenny Law | 21 November 2010 - 5:44pm

And another..

Looking out over The Walls one night. EOS 400D. 18-60 lens, f32, 30 secs or so..

OK. I wasn't listening to a Word podcast when I took this. But I might have been at some point that evening.

Tiltshift app + instagram = photo fun

Since getting the instagram app on the iPhone, I've re-discovered how much I like just taking photos - I'm not pretending to be much good at it though...

StartPoint | 23 November 2010 - 6:24pm

I'm the same...

...but with Hipstamatic and Pro HDR for iPhone. All my pics above were taken with those apps. At this point I can't afford an SLR, but I love the photos I'm able to shoot with my phone, thanks to the wonder of the App Store.

Love your tiltshifts, btw!
