Great reviews- awful album

Last week I bought "Pinkerton" by Weezer on the basis of the plethora of 5* reviews I found on the web, plus I have always liked a lot of their stuff ( although not "Buddy Holly" -their biggest hit) I knew that it wasn't like the rest of their catalogue but was excited enough to give it a go - plus it was only £3.

Honestly, after 4 plays I think that Pinkerton is rubbish ( I should start to experience some form of enlightenment by now, surely?). Sub par melodies & lyrics as well as awful production.

Do any of the Massive know this album and is it worth persisting with it?

Any other examples of so called 5* or 10/10 albums that haven't floated your boat?

tech help

Two questions for the technically gifted "Massive" - apologies if this has been covered before elsewhere

1. Spotify - I have free spotify on one of my laptops but cannot work out how to install it on a second newer machine. I can log in to the website ok but cannot find how to install the software and find my playlists on the second laptop.

2. Similar problems with itunes on new laptop. I have authorised my new lap top to be synced with my existing itunes account but it won't show any of my account music or let me download itunes tracks that i have bought in the past.

Help ! And thank you ( in anticipation!)

Latest podcast - Masseeeef help required

I am too idle to replay the latest podcast so forgive me for throwing myself on the tender mercies and collective memory of the Massive. Who was the artist mentioned by D Hepworth and/or M Ellen in the latest podcast - around the time they talked about Phil Spector's Christmas Album?
Yours lazily etc

Albums of 2010

Am getting a little annoyed at album reviews (ex Word, natch)

Perhaps because of deadline pressures, relative "hotness" or "coolness" of the artist etc we get rather misleading album reviews describing stuff that in hindsight wasn't quite as good as we were led to believe. I really really want to like Weller's Wake up the Nation and every review was excellent, so far I am a bit underwhelmed because my expectations were raised by so many positive reviews ( my fault I know and I am sure that I will get there with this album)

Anyway my point is, please could the Massive give me some 2010 albums that after a few months/weeks of roadtesting are proving to be wonderful listening!!??

Word Subscription

I have just taken out a new 3 year subscription to The Word - don't begrudge it a bit, love your work, etc etc- but I have noticed in the past that every time I have renewed my sub that the next edition of the mag has an offer of a free CD or somesuch for people "starting out" with the magazine. I'm not Midlake fan ( current offer) but where's the love for long time supporters of the magazine?!

Leeds Festival

Had a great few days at Leeds Festival last weekend although aged 40 i did feel a little like I was just hanging around at the back to drive most of the audience home afterwards. Question for everyone - is it me or has "wee throwing" made a comeback at Festivals? Seemed very popular this weekend
