Is this blog cheaper than a therapist?

Is the word blog starting to turn into this ? Is it valid to have a blog as outlet for all the "personel stuff" (whatever that maybe), Not saying its right or wrong more that it appears to be happening with more regularity now or is it a sign of a online community maturing and starting to share beyond what the blog was orginally setup for....................

Songs for the Kid/s

Artists have often written songs to their children/children..a much spoken of genre in itself..heres an example from Bowie which I think holds up well as a song in its own right...how about a few more examples both good and bad in this area..

Edit the career of the artist..

ok heres another hypothetical one..edit the career..to go from ok to perfect..good to great..or even in reverse if you fancy it.

My opener is Bowie..he retired in the early 80s just after the massive success of Lets dance (his pension fund) and the amazing run of albums he had in the 70's remain a momument to musical greatness.

He spent from then until now producing bands.

When the "Best" is not the Best..

Just finshed listening to John Martyn's two albums Bless the Weather and then Solid Air.

Solid Air is the "classic" album. Often cited as his best work.

I actually would go for Bless the Weather myself as his best overall album..

Any other examples similiar where the "Best" or "Classic" is not that in your view and the artist in question has much better work elsewhere in your opinion?

Subscribers Edition Just Arrived!

After looking out at Ian Dury from Shop magazine racks for nearly a month the edition dropped into my letter box yesterday.

Is this a record for late delivery.

This was the first edition of a subscription as present -- is this the norm for delivery to Ireland ?

If so why an earth does it take so long to arrive ?

Moments in Musical History you wished you had seen?

Mine at the moment is this one..

To have been a fly on the wall when Neil Young played the Trans album to David Geffen and assembled execs for the first time..just for the looks on the faces I can imagine and also for the fireworks display afterwards..

Any others ?

J'accuse -- Intermittent Word Podcasts!

After creating a whole audience for REGULAR podcasts are we now seeing their regularity slowing down..

Are the word folks taking us for granted?

Are they down the pub..

Are they saving the stories for story nights in said pub..

Have they run out of things to say..

Do we check the site in vain each week and experience podcast withdrawal...

I open the topic for comment.........

Bands/Artists you have misjudged

So a point of interest for me. Can you give examples of bands/artists you have misjudged.......

.This can be either way
at first look they appeared to be consigned to your personal bin filed "crap" or alternatively at first encounter it was love at first sight but it all went south shortly afterwards.
