Does anyone else think CD cover print is ridiculously small and nigh on unreadable for 99.9% of cases?

Yes I am getting on and the eyes and ears aint what they used to be but even my kids can't read the print on CD cover- not that they bother mind even if they were to actually buy a CD.

My suspicion is that the design blokes do the old trick of presenting the final artwork on some whoppping board where it looks great then they reduce it down to a fraction of its size for the actual cover. Stupid.

I mean why bother ?

I have the ipod classic -80 gb model. I use a laptop which has 80 gb memeory. So if I were to fill the ipod I would have little left for anything else. This is increasingly likely as I use the larger file sizes of apple lossless conversion rather than those beastly MP3s .

The solution,I was advised, was to store itunes on an external hard drive. You get an option to store in a different file after you run itu nes.

But everytime I do this i get itunes on the external drive AND in the my music folder on the c drive.Before you know it I am back to getting insuffucient file space messages form the laptop.

Back to square one .

Any solutions?

From what I have read Obama was elected due to heavy support from the black and hispanic community and white women with less support from white men.

If blacks to a t voted for Obama including George Bush's former sidekick Colin Powell and ( I suspect) Steve Earle's heartthrob Condaleezza Rice, can we say the US elections were a blow against racism?

Seems to me the vote went heavily along racial lines after all

As a regular reader and recent new subscriber from the antipodes I have been doing my bit to direct friends and family to the humor whimsy and occasional information provided by the podcast.

More often than not the reaction I get is "he's got his mic off isn't he?" or "I can't here what he is saying". Eyes roll and that's it for that endorsement.

Why is this so hard? I've done bit of radio in my time. It's not that hard. You sit all the participants down, plonk a microphone or microphones in front of them, you might even check levels and then off you go. The only risk is leaving the mic on when thinking you are off air or the reverse. But since you just rabbit on without break I assume it is a case of start - click on end podcast - click off.

I have made better recordings using poorly concealed lapel mics at the back of a pub.

Love the podcast , love the mag- hate the recording.
