Dylan & Knopfler duet on Forever Young

The Dylan/Knopfler Euro jaunt wrapped up in Hammersmith on Monday night. For the last few weeks Knopfler had been playing on the first few songs of Dylan's set each night, but on the last night he came back out for the final song of the tour. Nice touch at 3:58 when Knopfler sings "may your song always be sung" and gestures at Dylan. It's ragged and rough and not at all bad. Check out the smiles on Donnie Herron and Tony Garnier's faces as well.

Knopfler's keyboard player, Guy Fletcher, kept a really interesting, if sometimes very trainspottery blog about the tour. Lots of insight into touring and all the banjo playing that went on backstage between the two bands all over Europe: http://guyfletcher.co.uk/index.php/diary/MK_2011_Dylan_Tour_Diary_

From his own website, here's Eno on necks, limps, rock and roll and, er, playing with himself.

Bob at the White House the other night, and an unexpected duet from 1993

And here's a nice oddity: from Eindhoven in 1993, Bob - dressed in something like a small tent - is unexpectedly joined onstage by Liz. A not bad duet ensues:

Dylan at the White House last night

Braving the blizzard old Bob and Tony Garnier (and a so far unidentified pianist) rolled up at the White House yesterday evening for a concert attended by President Obama.

Party at Bob's house

Hell of a Christmas party at Bob's house. Must be Santa Claus, indeed.

"Wilco (The Album)" (The Stream) (On The Internet)... oh feck the irony... listen to the new album

Good old Wilco, offering us a sneak preview of their upcoming album, the imaginatively titled (and PIL referencing?) "Wilco (The Album)":

Oh dear. Just don't ask Billy Bob about the, uh, acting stuff...

Self-styled "musical historian" Billy Bob Thornton and his band dropped in to a Canadian studio for a promo interview. Watch and cringe. After this aired the band got ill and had to cancel their remaining Canadian shows.

Ooops.

Burt Bacharach working for Sky Sports!

Sky Sports' Chris Skudder was at both of Wilco's recent Dublin shows, in the photo pit in front of the stage. Frontman Jeff Tweedy spotted him and thought he looked like Burt Bacharach. Here's Skudder's glowing review of the gigs along with the youtube link showing Skudder doing his best Bacharach look
