Lorem Ipsum

I know there are quite a few folks out there who work in the design industry and thought I'd direct you to something that does exactly what it says in the tin.

http://clientsfromhell.tumblr.com

e.g Client: “We would like our commercial to run on BBC1.”

Me: “The BBC are not a commercial organisation. They don’t run ads.”

Client: “Well you are supposed to be the big media-man, you need to get us on BBC1!”

Me: “No one can run commercials on the BBC, they don’t show commercials.”

Client: “So we can totally own the BBC if there are no other advertisers! This is going to be great.”

Me: “No. It’s not.”

Mr Beckham + Mr Coogan

In the second paragraph of this news report it is stated that Mr Beckham landed at Manchester Paul Calf Airport.

Has a certain Mr Coogan been misleading Yahoo sports journalists as to his impact on the Manchester landscape??

Iggy getting Jiggy

Why are 5 star so f*ck@ng crap?

Popular beat combos and artists have a rich history of behaving irresponsibly on kiddies shows.

The embedded video herewith shows Mr Iggy Pop getting Jiggy with a Teddy Bear on the Number 73 programme, which was a hoot of a programme.

I'm sure there's video of Mr Slash discussing oral sex in a bar somewhere too.

Please submit your kiddie related videos. Never thought I'd be typing that today.

Did you get very far?

For some (probably alcoholic) reason I was encouraged to sing Summer Nights (from Grease) with a female friend enthusiastically duetting the Olivia part.

This was in the Cul de Sac in Glasgow and they had some sort of karaoke band thing going.

In one of those nightmare-like scenarios it soon became very clear that "Olivia" didn't know any of the words to this ditty.

Thankfully the bass part in said song is pretty close to "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" and I managed to skillfully segue into that Righteous Brothers classic.

However the modicum of applause that greeted such virtuosity seemed to me to be rather mean for such an accomplishment and as the tumbleweed rolled in front of my teary eyes I saw Justin Currie from Del Amitri shake his head and leave the establishment.

Have any of the Word Collective disgraced themselves in front of their heroes?

This is NOT A Love Song (New Issue Spoiler Alert!)

With regard to the Best / Worst love songs in this month's issue I would argue that Angels by Robbie ain't a love song .....but what do i know?

I DO know, however, that "There She Goes My Beautiful World" by Saint Nicholas is DEFINITELY not a song about smooching.

It is an ode to Inspiration and the fear of it departing -

"Me, I'm lying here, with nothing in my ears"

Tremendous Song though peeps.

This is Not America

A judge using a modicum of common sense in "Black Labrador not a Vicious Weapon Shock"!

"When she took the case to the Court of Session, the judge Lord Malcolm ruled against her and warned that courts must not contribute to "the creation of a society bent in litigation".

Bad Boss

http://music.yahoo.com/read/news/12176684

He's a very naughty boy!

What I find amazing about this article is the sentence "We are proud of the good jobs, benefits and career opportunities we provide to more than 1.4 million U.S. associates who choose to work at Wal-Mart and serve our customers every day."

1.4 million associates / employees- yikes!!!!

Fade Out Fade In Fade Out.............

The print in a well thumbed paperback doesn't pale into nothing as you get to the end. Your lover doesn't fade into invisibility at the moment of sexual ecstasy - unless your Mr. Fantastic of course.

Then why is it more than every second recorded song fades out the end. Why not finish the goddamn song? Many times the tune is just beginning to kick -in - then it is slowly taken away from you.

And don't get me started on tracks that Fade OUT then IN again a la In Every Dream Home A Heartache.

Any other Wordsmith out there have examples of this questionable practice?
