My other half has just said...............
"Don't walk away when I'm trying to remember what I was going to say to you"
Love her to bits!
World Cup bid - do we want it or not?
So FIFA isn't as honest as we'd like it to be and that money perhaps hasn't gone where it should. Governments are happy to back a bid that if we win will make us feel good and if we don't there'll be an easy scapegoat in the BBC.
On the other hand to see Ghana, for example go on a run to the last 4, see New Zealand remain unbeaten and have a load of potentially good football on our doorstep has got to be a good thing.
American football advice
So having missed out on the UK American Football boom of a few years back, seeing it as a poor mans Rugby League, I've now just finished the truly wonderful Friday Night Lights and started dabbling in Sky's Sunday night coverage, but where should I go for an introduction to the history, tactics and a general understanding of the sport.
Your recommendations would be much appreciated.
If we were a band....................
.............I reckon the magazine and the website would be Half Man Half Biscuit.
Why?.............
regrettably never going to sell millions
a devoted bunch of followers
witty but also makes you think
consistently top notch without singing it from the rooftops
affectionate without being cloying
slightly cynical but not hateful (lets ignore I Hate Nerys Hughes)
What do others think (and apologies if this has been done before)?
Liverpool FC
After witnessing this afternoons performance against Blackpool (who thoroughly deserved to win) is it time to add Liverpool to the list of those in terminal (or at least a lengthy) decline.
A list which I'd imagine includes:
NME
The Observer
ITV
The quality of Bob Dylan's live performances
Half Man Half Biscuit Public Service Announcement - Preston 3rd October
Just in case any others were heading to Preston tonight, the venue website reports that the show has been postponed to 12th November due to illness.
