Cartoon Zombies in country music death match

This is currently the fave video in the Southern household. I know next to nothing about the band but I'm a sucker for a good tune, animation and a decent Zombie flick..

Pro Valentine's Day Songs (free stuff)

As a laydeeeee I'm always wary of some rather pathetic attempt at VD romance (ahem) and while I'm not the day's biggest fan I do appreciate several gallons of something alcofrolic or at the very least a gesture that shows some sort of effort.
If clicking on a web link can be described as effort I'd be more than happy to get a download of this sent to me (as long as it was accompanied by a very tangible and expensive gift). It's a free Valentine's Day download of a track from the new Handsome Family album (yipee!)called Darling My Darling.

'Allo Darling

Here's one for the teenage readers of Word.

Ed Stewpot returns with Junior Choice on Christmas Day on Radio 2.
The show is inviting listeners to send in their requests so it got me wondering if it'll be a nostalgia fest featuring Three Wheels On My Wagon, Puff The Magic Dragon and anything by Bernard Cribbens or Charlie Drake.
In a perfect world it will be.
What are your fave Junior Choice type tunes?

I Shot A Man In Reno competition

Thanks very much to Word for the copy of Graeme Thomson's book that arrived in the post this morning. Other than the 9 million quid I won on the Lottery it's the first prize I've been awarded since the early 80s.

Jeanne Moreau

It can all get a bit too blokey on here so here's something I've just received courtesy of Mike Alway's El Records..... The Immortal Jeanne Moreau. It's a beautiful album by a superstar of Gallic cinema.
One hell of a voice as well.

Pete Molinari

Just back from a rather packed and sweaty Dingwalls in north London where Pete Molinari played tonight. I've heard him a few times on Radio 2 but never actually seen him live until now. I hear that Richard Hawley is a big fan and after seeing this relatively young kid tonight I can see why. Classic country blues all delivered in a very Hawley-friendly manner by a gorgeous looking, hip-swaying young guy (apologies, have had several wines) who tonight could do very little wrong. Has Word covered him?
See what you make of him yourselves.

Instrumentals

Was having a discussion in the pub last night about the lost art of great instrumentals in pop music - oh yes, me and my mates really know how to make the most of an evening out - and I was pointed in the direction of this from the Ralfe Band.
Do you know of any other new bands doing something similar?
