i'm working with a band that is comprised of 2 sets of brothers.

last night my ipod shuffled from joy division to the smiths to jilted john (i know) and i got to musing

when and where would you choose for the best musical youth?
i thought about swinging london in the 60s for 2 seconds, and then smugly chose my own:
manchester in the late 70s/early 80s
spiral scratch sleeved with a picture taken by my bus stop, joy division at my local venue, the smiths singing about my school (nearly), factory, the hacienda, the stone roses at my mate's school, (and later even oasis from the rough end of our suburb)
took it for granted at the time
