Children's Songs
Being the tree-hugging recycling man that I am, I recycle my old copies of Word. Unfortunately this has meant I can't look up old articles.
Having recently become a Dad, I was looking for kiddie friendly tunes. Got the wonderful Colours Are Brighter collection which is brilliantly bonkers but remembered that the Word did an article on the best rock songs for kids.
Could anyone help me out by giving me the tracklisting?
Much obliged,
Sandy

Long time reader, first-time correspondent. Loving your work.
In this month's issue, reader Andrew Robinson calls Rob Fitzpatrick's recent Paolo Nutini article "fawning and self-important.". Misses the gist of the piece completely. Rob's point was that Paolo has been misunderstood, mislabelled or overlooked by many music-lovers. A lot of the reviews of the new album concentrated on the fact that a pretty-boy pop sensation with a Dad who runs a chippy actually has a bit of musical nous, style and eclectic taste. Few really GOT Paolo the way Rob did. He's a simple chap who finds the joy in simple things and writes songs about them, throwing in influences as diverse as Cab Calloway, Johnny Cash, Rod Stewart and The Jungle Book. Sunny Side Up is a truly life-affirming record and Rob's assertion that if you think you know Paolo Nutini, think again, is a good one.
It just would have been nice to see a review of the album on it's release in your fine publication...the lack of one suggests that many in the Word Office are included in those needing to be won over.
Aw the best,

To the forum...and beyond!
Just a quick enquiry to the web-gurus.
Would it be possible to insert *track new posts*, *show all posts by me*, *show all replies to posts by me* etc features to the site?
The forum is rather daunting, the sheer volume of posts something I find difficult to get round.
Forgive me if this has been queried before.
Cheers,
Sandy
Internet killed the radio star?
Looking for a piece of advice folks.
Would any of you kind folks be able to recommend a piece of software or integrated browser gadget that I would be able to collect all my favourite radio stations on? Ideally something that launches when I log-on to the computer and has all my selections queued up and ready to roll.
Simply The Worst Football Songs?
After the desert of monotonous transfer speculation that the summer post-Euro 2008 has become, we're now within sight of the new season.
Once again we suspend credulity and are certain that this year will all be different, this year we're gonna do it better.
One thing that never changes, however, is the team's bloody theme song. Every match is heralded by some God-awful attempt at stirring the crowd up with popular music.
For years Rangers' fans have had to put up with Tina Turner warbling 'Simply The Best' before the team comes out. Aside from the obvious fact that we've not even been the best team in Glasgow for the past three years, the sight and sound of pished Weegies more used to singing The Sash belting out "...I'm stuck on your heart, hanging on every word you say" in a melodramatic style is frankly hilarious.
What are your team anthems? And more importantly, what SHOULD they be?
Pride and Prejudice
As a Glaswegian, I have to put up with a lot of stereotyping. My dear green birthplace suffers more than it's fair share of jibes - especially in respect to our predilection for deep fried...well, anything really.
I therefore wish lovely Kate Mossman had described the searing Heath Ledger's portrayal of The Joker as having a Chelsea Grin and not a "Glasgow Smile". We've got enough on our plate (mostly deep fried Mars Bars). Please consider piling the adjectives on the affluent Londoners!
Anyone else feel their hometown gets a bad rep in the press?
