Public Service Announcement
If you are an iTunes/Windows user and get a request to update to V9.1 - don't. It would appear there are several issues associated with this update and no definitive solution yet. I fell into this trap yesterday, wasted several hours and have now lost iTunes completely. There are some work-arounds on the Apple forums but you would be better to avoid the problem all together and stick with what you have.

A weekend in Bristol
Can I beg some assistance from the Massive please?
The GLW and I are heading to Bristol this weekend and are looking for any suggestions or advice for things to do and see. So far on the list is the Banksy exhibition, Clifton and the SS Great Britain so that's tomorrow sorted.
I've tracked down a pub called "The Seven Stars" that presents acoustic music during weekend afternoons. Does anyone know it?
Many thanks in advance.

Phone queue background music
I've just been in contact with the Word's subscription people to sign my life away for another year and whilst I was waiting in the phone queue none other than a Christopher Martin and The Coldplayers tune came wafting out of the handset.
Whilst I don't dislike them in small doses, I was just a bit surprised as they're not what I'd call typical Word cover material. So, does anyone out there have any examples of either very appropriate or hugely inappropriate phone queue music they may have come across?
Umbrella ... KGB ... the irony of it.
I know this isn't music related and I apologise if this is a bit London centric but I've just returned from buying a pack of butties from a major supermarket chain. Just inside the door were a couple of gents flogging copies of the London Evening Standard, and with it, a free umbrella.
Now given that the Standard has just been bought buy an ex-member of the KGB, is this a piece of inspired marketing, a monumental PR cock-up or is the name of Georgi Markov about to resurrect itself?
I was reluctant to ask if the said umbrellas came with extra features like cyanide coated ball bearings? Come to think of it, an item of that ilk could be quite useful some mornings. Only joking!
Olympic Handover
As a supporter of our hosting of the 2012 Olympics I duly applied for and received tickets for the "big" party in The Mall to celebrate the handover from Beijing to London in August. This came with the promise of "big name acts" for entertainment before and after the Olympic flag is passed to Boris or Sebastian or whoever.
Now in reality I didn't have any high hopes for truly "top-drawer" music, but deep down was longing for something a bit different. Dream on. What we are getting is The Feeling (OK, a bit of fun), Il Divo, Katherine Jenkins, Russell Watson (half-baked opera for the Daily Mail readership) and McFlea (strewth!).
How is it that these hackneyed names consistently get trotted out at every fundraiser, sports event and kiddies party? Is everyone else un-interested, too expensive or conscious that in fact there is the "wrong type of exposure". Discuss.
