Spooky
This morning I had just started reading an article in The Times about Amelia Earhart, when shuffle came up with Joni singing Amelia (the Travelogue version).
How spooky is that?
Films you're glad they didn't make
A recent misreading of a film title caused me to think of this:
Jedgar - Leonardo di Caprio plays Irish twins who head the CIA.
Any more?
Björk and Rufus Wainwright
While I admire the musicianship, ambition, imagination and innovation of Björk and Rufus, I wish they would get someone else to sing.
Does anyone agree, or have similar opinions about others?
Music in situ
On the There Goes Rhymin' Simon thread, I mentioned playing a certain song on the way to the Presley house. Have any members of the Massive ever made a point of listening to a piece of music in a location to which it refers? Examples would be Macarthur Park, or Electric Avenue - whole cities (eg Vienna) are too big. The more obscure the better.
My personal best: there's a work by Wayne Siegel called 'Devil's Golf Course' which I have listened to at that exact place in Death Valley.
