Help with the Ron Sexsmith doc
I know the Sexsmith doc Love Shines has been on tv over there in England. But it still seems very difficult to track down in that corner of the world referred to as Sweden.
Did anyone happen to record it/whatever modern people do?
Morrissey finally bitten by dog
I´m sorry, but I can´t stop laughing.
Help me celebrate my mom´s birthday
The fifth of July is my mom´s birthday. I would really appreciate if you sent her an e-mail and wished her a happy birthday ("Grattis på födelsedagen!" in Swedish).
Also, she likes to be told what a lovely son she has, even if it may or may not be true. Being an only child she´s my loudest supporter, she makes really great cakes and cooks lovely dinners. She bought me my first The Beatles album and paid for my first guitar.
So if you´ve got a minute, please send a message to:

Thanks and thanks again!
Gillian Welch is finally back
Eight(!) years after Soul Journey Gillian and David Rawlings are finally back with The Harrow & The Harvest. Released today in America, not sure about GB. And it´s definitely a keeper. Ah, the harmonies. If you´re a Spotify kind of person it´s yours to enjoy right now.
I´m a bit late to the current Arctic Monkeys party, but
I just want to say I think Don´t Sit Down ´Cause I´ve Moved Your Chair is a great title for a great song. Alex Turner is probably my favourite English songwriter of the last ten years.
That´s all for now.
There aren´t enough threads about Elvis Presley, so here´s one
He was pretty good, you know. Perhaps underestimated today, by getting his life turned into a Disneyland.
Money Honey, 1956
Hound Dog and All Shook Up, 1968 (The Comeback Special)
Suspicious Minds, filmed 1969 (That´s The Way It Is)
Play it f*****g loud!
Any fans of Motown here? Book advice, please
Found a book called Where Did Our Love Go? The Rise And Fall Of The Motown Sound by Nelson George at the library. Has anyone read it? Is it any good?
Joan Baez doc
I´m not a big fan of Joan, mainly due to her voice, but I really enjoyed this documentary. She seems a nice person with a warm sense of humour. It also features the usual - and some unusual - suspects (yes, Bob appears). It´s available until eleven pm tomorrow.
Hope the link works. Enjoy!
Cannibal Corpse or Richard Thompson?
No, I´m just joking. Or am I? I hope I am.
*Gets coat*
Iron Maiden or Richard Thompson?
Richard Thompson seems to be the magazine´s favourite artist, and I don´t mind. He IS a good musician. But if we could prove that more readers prefer the screaming galloping medieval tom roll-fest known as Iron Maiden, maybe we could sort of force, by gentle popular demand, the staff to put Iron Maiden or Eddie on the cover?
So, dear Massive, Iron Maiden or Richard Thompson?
Ron Sexsmith 15 min tv interview
This is from Swedish TV4. Hope it works wherever you are.

Where should I go after John Barleycorn Must Die?
After having discovered Traffic´s John Barleycorn Must Die and really enjoyed it, where should I go next?
There must be some Traffic fans around here. I already have a really nice Spencer Davis Group comp and Blind Faith´s album (so-so to these ears).
Thanks and enjoy the sun!
Your favourite Paul Simon album, please!
Paul Simon is about to release new album So Beautiful Or So What, his twelfth solo album. As a fan of both his solo work and the & Garfunkel duo I often think he tends to be unjustly overlooked (no pun intended).
To me he´s one of the great songwriters. He´s never lived the rock myth, but his music - and pardon the cliche - speaks for itself. Also, after 45 years he is still moving forward and being creative, rather than just giving the people what they want. Which in his case, I think, would be more Graceland.
So what´s your favourite Paul Simon album?
Paul Simon
There Goes Rhymin´ Simon
Still Crazy After All These Years
One Trick Pony
Hearts And Bones
Craceland
The Rhythm Of The Saints
Songs From The Capeman
You´re The One
Surprise
So Beautiful Or So What
Or, for that matter: The Paul Simon Songbook
And what the hell, it´s Friday. What´s your S & G favourite?
Wednesday Morning 3 AM
The Sounds Of Silence
Parsley, Sage, Rosemary & Thyme
Bookends
Bridge Over Troubled Water
My choices would probably be Parsley, Sage, Rosemary & Thyme and Paul Simon. I also have a soft spot for Songs From The Capeman.
Fleet Foxes new album Helplessness Blues appears to be "available"
Or so a friend tells me. I wouldn´t know. This must be frustrating for the band and the record company. It´s more than a month left til the official release.
Now on BBC iPlayer: Six hours about David Bowie
You´re not missing this documentary, are you? It features lots of interviews, with both the usual and unusual suspects, and a decent tune or two.
