The Sun on Sunday
Well it had to happen, the only real surprise is how long it's taken.

From your Wilco correspondant...
For those who just can't do without re-mixed versions of songs you already own the band have just released an iTunes session.
The last of the eight tracks is a recording of Cruel To Be Kind with Nick Lowe.
Available at the iTunes store.
Wilco from load in to load out
I quite like this.
"This is a stop motion film of Wilco @ the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee on October 1-2, 2011. I have been photographing Wilco since 2006 and wanted to capture the band on tour from load-in to load-out."
Jimmy Saville R.I.P.
Funny how the "Famous people you have met..." thread re-appeared yesterday where I was saying what a nice guy he was.
ATM: Rory Gallagher
Someone who totally passed me by before I recently picked up a copy of Calling Card and enjoyed it.
Where next?
David Ford @ Islington O2 Academy tonight
The CUYMFH is playing on the doorstep of the Word this evening, any chance of bumping into fellow members of the massive?
I'll be the fat bald bloke ranting about Queen...
Today I will mostly be....
...trawling around the record shops in the fine city of Norwich trying to recreate and expand the record collection I started in 1972 as a nine year old. Four record shops all within easy walking distance of each other, a few charity shops along the way, a morning spent in the company of the smell of vinyl and old cardboard = heaven.
What are you up to today?
Legal/illegal digital files
I've always been under the impression that it's ok to make digital copies (for your own use) of music you have legally purchased and my itunes library contains many ripped cds and vinyl rips. What happens then if after ripping cds to itunes I then dispose of the original copy, either by selling or giving them away? Does this make the ripped files illegal if I keep them on my hard drive?
Likewise does it make a difference if it is a copy of a cd or record that I have bought second hand meaning that the artist has not received a cut of the price I paid for the original material?
Thirdly, if I have chanced upon an illegal download (not that I would of course) and then decided I liked it so much that I go out and buy the said recording either new or second hand, does that make the illegally downloaded file legal?
And finally, if I share a Twix bar with the GLW and we have one bar each are we eating a Twick or an Onx?
Decemberists at hammersmith tonight
Is there anyone in or around Camden who'd like a pair of tickets to tonights gig?(Free to a good home).
Something has cropped up which means I can't make it, I'm around until 6.30pm or so to pass them on, it'd be a shame for them to go to waste.
Decemberists new album
Listen to it here!

Is there anybody there?
I seem to have lost all the replies to posts. All I see when I click on a thread is the original post. There is no point in me posting the question "is it happening to anyone else?" because I'll not be able to see your replies!
I'm a teapot...
Please help me, the GLW is driving me mad!
We've been to see Squeeze supported by the Lightning Seeds this week. The Lightning Seeds keyboard player played a strange looking instrument and she wants to know what the bloody thing is called.
It's teardrop shaped and hand held, as you look at it horizontally the narrow end is towards the left. The broad end has 3 or 4 rows of buttons a bit like an accordion. The other side has a plate which must be some kind of sensor, as the buttons are pressed the sensor is strummed like a guitar making, well, guitar/harp like noises.
Anyone got any ideas?
RIP Arthur Penn
Not been a good day for the film industry.
