Hello much beloved Massive

Me and my teenage son are off to Liverpool next week for 3 days of HJH themed tourist hoop-la. I wondered if you had any recommendations on what to do and see when we are there? We've got tickets for the Beatles Story and the Magical Mystery Bus Tour but otherwise our time is ours. We're staying in the city centre, going by train on the wonderfully named Trans-Pennine Express so won't have a car to go far.

I'm looking forward to it and although my son is 14 and therefore forbidden by law to get enthusiastic about anything that doesn't involve Facebook, he keeps mentioning it so that's a good sign.

So I like the new Decemberists LP and the new Iron & Wine LP, but the best song for me this year is from Phineas and Ferb. All the songs on that show are really excellent but this one, where Isabella ties to woo Phineas walking around Paris, is the pick of the bunch. Phineas is more concerned with how to re-build the jet they built so they can get home. Boys!

I have permission from the lovely lady and lads in my life to go to the record fair in Middlesbrough Town Hall (I know, the glamour) tomorrow morning. And this a full week after Father's Day! Their love knows no bounds. It may be ever so slightly tragic but I'm giddy with excitement at the prospect. I haven't looked forward to a weekend so much since mid last century. Let's get ready to jumble!
