Entertainment For Lively Minds
Mat Riches's blog
A glorious noise
This has been a near constant on the Riches iPod for a couple of months now and as drink has been taken with a view to more later I thought I would share. I hope that's ok with everyone.
It's not summery, but it is lovely.
I love a good chart

Am I alone in finding this stuff interesting

I was reading this blog in relation to stuff at work, and thought this guy may have a point, and it also provides a nice alternative to the holy Spotify.
Apologies for not putting the text in, but I couldn't be sure the links would carry across
idiomag
Apologies for pasting all this in, this was in a work related email I got
"Online magazine Idiomag has launched, offering personalised content direct to the inbox of users.
The magazine provides articles, videos, music tracks and gig listings tailored to the tastes of each individual, who can import their music profile from a number of sources including Last.fm, Pandora, iLike, Playlist.com, MOG, Mystrands and Songza.
Personalising the web
Customization
Mick Jagger was wrong: you can always get what you want. And the way you want it.
The idea is a simple one that says much about our needs to find meaning and pertinence in the over-crowded online world. In terms of entertainment choices, people know what they like, and like what they know - and Idiomag caters to this with its artist-specific search feature and news stories divided into genre.
As well as the positives for each reader in providing personalised content - the sense of having a magazine 'just for them', and the relevance of providing content specific to an individual's needs - the concept is also an attractive one for advertisers, who can target individuals based on the data they share through their profiles.
* Customizing content is crucial for brands looking to attract users.
* With traditional media platforms losing readers, online is the way for magazines to reach people, and to bring in advertising revenue.
* By tying into other personalised profiles, such as Last.fm, the site offers a great deal of crossover - our playlists and tastes are not just represented on one site or service, we are able to use them to generate content for a magazine specifically for us, and to keep us informed of developments in an area we have chosen to like.
* Can existing magazine brands look to diversify into greater personalisation?"
What say you?
Half Man Half Biscuit
Not sure of the ethics of this, and I am aware that this isn't a trading site, but is anyone interested in a ticket for the mighty Biscuit tonight at Kentish Town Forum.
A mate has dropped out at the last minute, so I have a spare...It would be shame for it to be wasted...Plus it's depleted my drinking money.
Can & Kings Of Leon
It's finally hit me, where the Kings Of leon's lead singer gets his vocal style from..
Can's Malcom Mooney
You Doo Right is building up quite nicely on the pod of I, and there it was...
That is all
Adem - Love and Other Planets
The old apple product popped out Adem's "Spirals" today...Possibly the only song I have ever heard to mention "galactic tectonics" as part of a love song. It sent me running back into the arms of the whole album.
I had forgotten what a delicate thing of beauty this album is..
The train journey in was spent in it's warm company, eyes shut and cosy; which is unusual for the 8.55 to Farringdon.
That is all.
