Ok. I really should be working but wanted to put this up. What was the last album that suprised you? Something you thought you would not like, possibly from a genre you dont normally listen to, but did.

To start i bought The Pigeon Detectives album yesterday. Thought it was a bit chart friendly for me, but i was seduced by the 3 singles and so got the album yesterday and its great

Was looking through a load of old music mags last night and it was quite interesting reading some of the album reviews. There were a few along the line of "this band will go nowhere" with relation to some bands that did in a big way "go somewhere!".

Can anyone else remember any great reviews that they read?

To start you i refer to a review i read of an Autechre single (forget which one) where the review simply said that the tune was "A festering hillock of tune-shy Bum-wank"!! Genuis, love the single too!
