Albums and self-styled imagery
My heart sagged a little as I finally conceded to Word's description of Dubstep as 'the perfect mix of club and home listening' in this month's Best & Worst. What really hammered it home was the picture of Burial's 'Untrue' - the only Dubstep album I own, for which I have a killer piece expounding the subtlety of the sampling work just aching to be written - sitting jauntily to the left.
I don't want to give the illusion that I thought the album was still a diamond in the rough - I'm fully aware of it's Mercury nomination and widespread appeal - but I'm worried that the perfected mental images that accompany it will start to include armchairs and piles of organic veg. Right on the mark as usual guys, but the truth smarts a little.
Has anyone else been similarly dashed?
