Took 7 year old daughter to see The Sound of Music at HMT, Aberdeen starring Connie Fisher this afternoon. Daughter has been dying to see Connie and was most looking forward to it but much disappointment all round as we get to the theatre to be greeted with posters saying due to illness Connie won't be playing part of Maria but somebody else will.

Now, the understudy didn't do a bad job but there was a flat feeling in the audience as they all felt cheated that the "star" was nowhere to be seen.

This got me thinking that this doesn't happen at gigs does it? You don't go see The Stones to be told Mick is ill and this evening one of the roadies will take his part. Has anyone in the massive ever been to a gig where the singer is replaced by some unknown for one evening only?

PS - I got the blame as I said while driving through this afternoon "Hope Connie isn't ill and we get some understudy"......wish I could predict the lottery with the same accuracy.

This mad me laugh when I saw it but then started wondering if it was genuine considering the story its attached to.

Have been driven mad over the weekend with the length of time Spotify takes to do anything.

Running it on a macbook and the t'internet is fine but Spotify ain't.

While I assume most of the massive are spotify users I have just noticed that I have 9 invites available.

Now that Apple have approved the spotify app will it make any of the Massive 1) Get an iPhone if they haven't yet got one and 2) Persuade any existing iPhone users to upgrade from Spotify Free to Spotify Premium?

I've got an iPhone and think £9.99 per month will be well worth it to listen to what I want when out and about and will probably curtail my music purchase habits as I'm not really that fussed about owning the physical product these days.
