It's a new year, and as always there are plenty of magazines and people out there making up lists proclaiming bands they think will do big things in 2011. Finding new music is one of my favourite hobbies and so I always love it when magazines or bands themselves talk about new artists as I find myself liking quite a lot of them. So what with being addicted to finding new music and all, here are some of the bands I think are going to be achieving big things in 2011.

The Vaccines
This is probably the band I'm most excited about this year. It's indie guitar-pop at it's simplest form, but the tunes, whilst having the hazy and lo-fi layer to them, are short, sharp and catchy, and this is how I think Pop music should be. I can't wait until their debut album drops on the 31st of march.

This is my first Blog. You may have heard of a festival that takes place in Austin, texas every year, exclusively for inside members of the music industry, aka Music journos, A&R guys and others. it's probably the greatest new music festival to come out since Glastonbury first started, so if you're in the business I suggest you try and secure a trip next year. Anyway, here are my favourite bands that performed there this year. Not all vids are from the festival, this is just to give you an idea of what the bands are like.

Cerebral ballzy
- Hardcore punk five piece from New York. Prone to projectile vomiting and knecking sparks at 11am. Awesome.
