It may not be totally appropriate to post this here, but if I can ask your forgiveness, can I just say that I have recieved some wonderful news.

I have been formally offered the job I interviewed for 2 weeks ago.

So happy, nervous, proud & excited.

Stephen King novels - dont think this thread will have a lot of legs, but, FWIIW - my top 5.

1)- The Stand

2)- Dead Zone

3)- Salems lot

4)- The Shining

5)- Misery

A few films that have virtual universal acclaim but I dont get.

These have all just passed me by.

Citizen Kane - Really, what is all the fuss about?

2001 - left me cold, sorry

Spartacus - A decent enough sunday afternoon film, but thats all

High fidelity - adored the book, but the film didnt do anything for me.

Star wars - see Spartacus above

I am sure there are many more, but these will do for now.

Over to you chums, surely there are some (alleged) great films that leave you cold?

I believe this series has been mentioned here before, but I read on amazon today that the DVD of this will be released next month.

Strongly recommended, excellent series, similar to "This life"

Last night I bought my ticket to see bruce Springsteen at Sunderland.

I cant wait, its going to be fantastic.

I was intigued by the advert for this compilation on this here site, &, as I mentioned recently on another thread, I duly ordered it online.

It landed at the weekend & I have playing it in my car on the work run since.

A lot of the featured artists I had never heard of, but there was no need to worry, superb compilation, strongly reccomended.
