Get your fat balls out...
It's freezing out there. Don't forget to feed the birds (and some fresh water too...)x

Buddy Holly
Buddy Holly would have been 75 today. Happy Birthday. He was the best of them all...

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Apologies, some drink has been drunk. Just got in from watching the wonderful I Am Kloot at The Duchess in York. Some beautiful songs ruined by some proper knobheads non-stop talking... WHY??????? Grrrrrrr. I could literally crush a grape. Apologies again. Just thought you would understand. x
Thank you Bodhisattva
3 weeks ago, Bodhisattva posted a link to The Late Show by Jackson Browne. I had never heard this song before. It is fan-dabi-double-dozi. I am now working my way through the album.
Thank you Bodhisattva, wherever you are. You have enriched my average life…
A problem shared…
After a number of nights with very little sleep (two 4 year olds with chicken pox), I was dreamily trawling through youtube looking for The Amazing Rhythm Aces and their track ‘Third Rate Romance’. I carelessly stumbled upon this terrifying version by Tom Jones… although, I think I like it????
Gillian Welch & David Rawlings
I'm guessing there are more than a few Gillian Welch and David Rawlings fans out there??? Although still no word of a new G.W album (6 years, 4 months and counting...) thought I would point you in the direction of an album out on November 17 by D.R's side project "Dave Rawlings Machine" (featuring Gillian amonst others...) Yey!!!
Mother In Law
Just had a quick call from the Mother-In-Law - ringing from the Sage in Gateshead during the interval for Brian Wilson's gig. She was moved to tears by the whole thing - I don't think I have ever heard her so happy since... (insert your own mother-in-law joke here)
ISN'T MUSIC BRILLIANT!!!
That's all.
HELP - songs about growing old?
Comrades,
I would welcome some assistance...
A friend of mine is about to turn 40 and I was thinking about making her a CD of apt music to mark the occasion.
Bearing in mind the fact that she is not jumping for joy over this birthday - can anyone suggest appropriate songs???
I am struggling...
Much obliged.
(EDIT - Please be assured that I DON'T THINK 40 IS OLD!!! that is what I would like to get across to my pal...)
