The CD collection in my local library.

My local library has an absolute corker of a CD collection and everything is yours for £1 or less a week.

As I feel sure they must be at LEAST a lurker here I would just like to raise my hat to the person who buys the CDs for the Birkdale Library - money must be awfully tight but Let England Shake was already in last Saturday.

Well done sir or madam! Well done! Your excellent taste is much appreciated.

Little Howard's Big Question

Anyone noticed this? It's a children's TV show which is in no way aimed at children. Little Howard is an animated six year old (no - I mean animated, he's a cartoon, not just lively) - every episode there is a brief sketch then Little Howard blows an airhorn and announces the question of the episode. Then there is a song and dance routine about monkeys. The rest of the programme tries to answer the question. One of the strangest and funniest things I have seen in years.

This is the list of episode titles in Series 2 -

1 Why Can't I Get Hold of Sawblaind the Municipal?
2 How Can I Make a Monster?
3 How Can I Learn Superpowers?
4 Is There Anything Smellier Than Big Howard?
5 How Can I Make Big Howard Famous?
6 Who's Been Eating My Porridge?
7 Why Can't I Be You?
8 Can I Wrestle Control of the Weather from Sian Lloyd's Evil Grip?
9 Can I Dig to Australia?
10 Why Do Things Have to Die?
11 Can Father Christmas Star in Our Nativity Play?
12 Can Big Howard Live Without His Mobile Phone?

I urge you to take a look - 7am on BBC2 at the moment, I think. I tip my hat to Big Howard!

Did I dream this?

I'm beginning to question my memory and not even teh mighty internet is helping me so I throw myself upon your combined . . er . . mightiness.

I think I remember the Cure appearing on TOTP years ago all playing tiny instruments in a huddle wearing cricket whites or something similar. Obviously a rebellious reaction to the all-miming regime back then. I remember thinking that this was daring and hilarious but I was young and impressionable at the time and tonight's program has shown me that it had all been done before.

Anyway, can anyone help? Was it just a dream I had? Or am I just rubbish at searching?

I remain, folks, your humble servant etc.

And before anyone asks - no I'm not thinking about Eels doing "Novocaine for the Soul" because that's the only one I keep getting off Bing / Google / You Tube.

Christmas Presents you would love to give - but won't

Apart from the Word subs, which you will give obviously, what music or other item would love to give people this Christmas?

Here's mine -
