Fast and loose really ...
Just finished reading the Word 2011 and David Hepworth's article, The Wicked Messenger ... what a brilliant piece of journalism and sadly, so right it what it says about the way we live, breath and hear our news ... though some of us still like to buy newspapers, watch/listen to the TV/Radio news and even buy books and magazines to hear and see what is happening around us - and without the aid of a smartphone, ipad or whatever. New technology is going to get faster, I guess but too fast for the likes of me. Anyway, thanks David and well said. Keep up the good work ....
Whatever ..
Just finished reading Andrew Collins latest column ... once again, it was worth the time and (no) trouble. It end rather strangely, I thought and I hope and trust that it was not a signal that it was his last column for the Word. Good writer and a very good columnist ... more please, Andrew.
Oh God, it's Bruceeeeeeee ....
Got my subscriber copy of the new Word and sadly surprised to see you have gone back to the old big pic front page ... and even worse, it is a rather gormless Bruce Spingsteen who stares out at me ... Not something guaranteed to make me want to renew my subscription, I'm afraid ... no, certainly not.
Hello there ... I'm John ...
Hi. I'm just listening to Bob Dylan singing Visions of Joanna ... I think the version I picked up on the internet is from one of the old bootlegs because it has a slight sound fade halfway thru, and I remember that because I have the bootleg tucked up in the roofspace with most my vinyl albums. I've also just finished filling in the World questionaire about vinyl and left blank the last questions: there is a fire in your house, which would you safe first .. CDs or vinyl. I wouldn't know what to do ... I love them both and they are different ... once I could only get what I wanted on vinyl, then the world switched to CD and then downloading. So, as you can imagine, I have a big collection of both. I have an even bigger collection of Bob Dylan on vinyl and CD, so I imagine that is what I would try and grab after I had made sure my darling wife and family were safe and sound. Bobstuff and others can always be re-bought! So, there ... that's enough for the moment. I'd like to put up some pix, but can't see how that can be done ... maybe, I will be told by someone. Cheers and best wishes.
