Name That Tune... a theory why it's not just intros that sound alike...

Apparently, as there are only a small number of musical notes to compose with. It is inevitable that eventually over a period of time that some songs are going to sound the same. If we include homage and influence into the equation we have some interesting results. To prove this theory play the following titles back to back...

Jefferson Airplane "White Rabbit" V Bjork "Human Behaviour"

ELO "Over the Border" V The Beach Boys "Heroes and Villains"

Cher "Halfbreed" V Joe Walsh "Life's Been Good"

Have Fun!

Spotify- ONE HIT WONDER Nomination...

"...for legal reasons" here in AUSTRALIA we cannot yet access SPOTIFY ( we CAN get access to endless banal advertising for mineral makeup, nasty garden furniture, retirement prisons and ZUMBA) AND we can get the podcast and I hear you want quality ONE HIT WONDERS please add: "it's my party" by Dave Stewart and Barbara Gaskin... "a subtle and ironic 80s homage." ( THAT sounds like a wine review! )

In view of the 100th podcast ( congrat's by the way and many many thanks for the witty entertainment) I was wondering if the thread of "WHERE IN THE WORLD IS THE WORD READ? is still current? If so I would like to publish a picture of myself outside TOWNSVILLE RAILWAY STATION in QUEENSLAND AUSTRALIA. err... where is the upload tool guys?

Body Rock

As the podcasts become even more entertaining and addictive listening (i recently have been listening to one a day by downloading the early ones ) on the latest one we are asked to pause for thought re; band names that are body parts and out of the blue i thought what about the Manchester dance combo CRAZY PENIS? and more to the point; imagine going to HMV asking for a 12ins Crazy Penis?
PS Boney M count?

Rock Mags that are no more.....

As an expat now living in Brisbane Australia, i read with interest the article on music publications that have ceased publication. This brings me to one not mentioned in the spread; from circa 1975/76....can anyone recall an arty pop culture tabloid weekly under the title of "Street Life?" i used to read it on the bus on my way to art college and somewhat pretentiously thought it made me look cool!! anyway, in retrospect it was ahead of it's time;very colourful prose, great layout intresting articles......and i would also like to know the full story of the demise of "The Face" if anyone can help....?

Thanks
BONEHEAD!
