The curse of Baker Street
As if it isn't bad enough that somebody is spreading a rumour about the demise of Gerry Rafferty, now the man responsible for the brilliant sax line has died.
RIP Bob
Flimsy Royal Wedding Thread
For no other reason than whilst watching a Costello DVD this morning, this came on and reminded me what a great piece of pop this is and the video has the Royal connection.
The collective musical ignorance of the X Factor judges
Saturday night and, as usual, bowing to presure from FPO and 8 year old daughter and watching X Factor. Have just seen somebody with an acoustic guitar playing an acoutic version of the Britney Spear's song Hit Me Baby One More Time. All the judges falling over themselves to praise this original version but methinks the fabulous Fountains of Wayne did this version originally and somewhat better (naturally), or am I just imagining it?
(Also suffering from man flu so mind and ears a bit fuggy).
Fyfe Dangerfield on the Lottery programme
I am watching Fyfe on this awful show (couple of glasses of wine means I am stuck in my armchair too far away from the remote), hiding behind the sofa with my eyes protected by my hand. Whatever was the man thinking? Does he honestly believe that the sort of people who watch this show will rush out to Tescos and buy his record?
What is the point of HD
Can anybody help. I bought a HD ready TV and am thinking (like numerous others no doubt) of bothering Sky to upgrade to a HD box but, at my sisters at the weekend wnd she has HD, During the Champions League final, my son and me were switching between normal and HD and quite frankly, I couldn't see any difference. My brother in law piped up with nature programmes are great on HD but couldn't really answer the question, 'are they £10 a month better?'.
Opinions please massive. £10 on Sky HD, or an extra CD.
The combined might of The Massive's brain please
My 8 year old daughter (and the rest of her school) are taking part in their annual sponsored run around the playground, and the Head has asked if I can put together a CD of songs with Run(ning) in the title. They should be jaunty enough to inspire the kids to run around to. He has specifically asked for Keep On Running.
Any suggestions will be gratefully received.
Thanks in advance
Gastric Band
Been a lot of talk about gastric bands recently so I was trying to put together the ultimate Gastric Band so, Barry White on keyboards, Leslie West on guitar. McCartney's drummer on drums (surprisingly). Meat Loaf on lead vocals. Can't think of a bass player and I'm sure there are numerous alternatives to the aforementioned. Any ideas anybody?
