No-one I know remembers these blasted things, but a recent Google search has come up with some decent results, and proved once and for all that I'm not mad.

Chu-Bops were miniaturised LP sleeves, 3" x 3", which were shrinkwrapped just like regular records, but here's the thing....they housed a pink, grooved disc, which was actually bubblegum. Sometimes they included lyrics for one of the songs on the album, and forms that you could send off and enter competitions etc.

I believe these novelties were on sale around 1980, certainly that's when I remember seeing them in my local shop. I definitely remember owning 'Get The Knack' by The Knack.

Probably better then the real album :)
