Adam Burling's blog
All hail Gram Parsons
Following David Hepworth's rediscovering of Al Green, I've just had a similar experience with the Flying Burritto Brothers.
Is this not one of the most spine-tingling pieces of music ever recorded?
Wonderful.
Oh Ronnie...
Another chapter for the paperback release?

Macca at Liverpool Sound
Watched Macca at Anfield on TV last night, and just as he played Let It Be followed by Hey Jude, and I was thinking that he's probably played much the same set since the mid 70s, he threw in a surprise.
He played half of a Day In The Life, then launched into Give Peace A Chance.
Is this the first time he's played these songs live? Or any Lennon-sung songs?
Solo Fabs
I've finally listened to George Harrison's All Things Must Pass LP for the first time. It's a masterpiece, and in my opinion probably the greatest solo work by a Beatle. I can't believe I've coped this long without it.
What do others think is the best Beatle solo LP? Any nominations for Ringo's latest will be instantly rendered void.
"Guilty pleasures"
I have no life, so therefore I'm spending my Saturday night watching Fearne Rotton presenting a host of 'stars' slaughtering some 'guilty pleaures'. Kelly Osborne is doing Total Eclipse Of The Heart...dear God, why?
Anyway, is there such a thing as a guilty pleasure? I think it was Lemmy that said "There's only two types of music: music you like and music you don't."
Should we really feel guilt for liking a certain song?
If you do believe in guilty pleasures, what are yours?
